Grim's Ditch represents a prehistoric or possibly Iron Age boundary earthwork, consisting of a ditch with associated bank, whilst Akeman Street is a Roman road constructed as part of the imperial transport network connecting Alcester to Cirencester. The two monuments are spatially associated within Blenheim Great Park, where they survive as archaeological features preserving evidence of ancient land use and communication routes across Oxfordshire.
