Shalloch Hill is a post-medieval palisaded enclosure located 350 metres south of Shallochpark in Ayrshire, Scotland. The monument consists of a defended enclosure constructed from wooden palisades, a fortification method that remained in use in Scotland well into the early modern period. Such defensive structures typically enclosed domestic or administrative buildings and were constructed by landowners requiring protection of their property and status.
The site rests upon bedrock of the Leadhills Supergroup, a wacke formation of Ashgill age that underlies this part of Ayrshire.
