Slipton Lodge moated site is a medieval residential enclosure located in Northamptonshire. The site comprises a moated platform surrounded by a substantial water-filled ditch, a characteristic defensive and status-bearing feature of medieval manorial settlements. Dating to the medieval period, the moat represents the remains of a former gentry or manorial dwelling, of a type widely distributed across England during the twelfth to sixteenth centuries. The survival of the earthwork provides evidence of local medieval settlement patterns and the domestic arrangements of the pre-industrial English countryside.
