Spectacle Lochan is a small freshwater loch located on the Isle of Rum in Argyllshire, Scotland. The site is associated with two ancient deer traps situated approximately 400 metres to the south-west and 1000 metres to the south-south-west of the loch, which represent evidence of medieval or early modern hunting practices on the island. These traps, constructed to channel and contain deer for hunting purposes, reflect the importance of game management and procurement in the economic life of Rum's inhabitants during this period. The designation of these features within the Highlands and Islands archaeological record underscores their significance as material evidence of human exploitation of the island's natural resources.
