The monument represents evidence of prehistoric settlement in the region, typical of the Bronze Age or Iron Age periods when such structures served as domestic dwellings. The hut circle survives as a sub-circular depression with associated archaeological features characteristic of Iron Age settlement patterns in the Scottish Highlands, where communities established small, seasonally or permanently occupied domestic sites.
