St Brecan's Chapel is a small early Christian ecclesiastical site located in Derry, Northern Ireland, comprising a chapel and graveyard on the foundations of an earlier settlement. The chapel, also known as St Columb's Chapel and Domnach Min-Cluane, represents a continuity of religious use spanning from the early Christian period through to later centuries, with successive structures built upon the same sacred ground.
The site lies upon bedrock of the Southern Highland Group, a geological formation of psammite and pelite rocks laid down during the Middle Cambrian period. This ancient mineral-rich foundation has supported human settlement and worship for over a thousand years.
