St Martin's Priory is a Benedictine monastic foundation established in Canterbury, Kent, during the Anglo-Saxon period. The priory, among the earliest Christian establishments in England, was traditionally associated with the mission of St Augustine and the conversion of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Kent in the late sixth century. The surviving remains comprise fragmentary architectural elements and archaeological deposits indicative of a substantial monastic complex that functioned through the medieval period until its dissolution during the Reformation in the sixteenth century. The site retains archaeological significance as evidence of early English monasticism and the material culture of religious life in Kent.
