The well survives as a stone-built structure situated approximately sixteen metres north of the church and represents the type of sacred spring that formed a focus for local devotion and pilgrimage in south-western England. Wells of this kind were frequently associated with Celtic saints, as Rumon was, and continued to hold religious significance through the medieval period and beyond.
