The site preserves evidence of prehistoric settlement patterns characteristic of upland Cornwall, with hut circles representing domestic occupation and the associated coaxial field system demonstrating contemporary land management and cultivation practices. The monument dates to the Bronze Age, a period when such nucleated settlements became established features of the Cornish landscape.
