Stone structure is a medieval or late medieval stone building located near Omagh in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The monument stands on bedrock composed of a mafic igneous intrusion of Silurian age, part of the complex igneous geology that characterises this region of Ulster. This foundation of hard, dark-coloured igneous rock would have provided a stable base for construction, though quarrying stone for building from such resistant material presented considerable labour demands for medieval builders in the locality.
