Strageath Mains is a Roman fort, annexe and field system located in Perthshire, Scotland. The site lies on bedrock of the Strathmore Group, a sandstone-dominated formation interspersed with conglomerate, siltstone and mudstone laid down during the Emsian period. This underlying geology shaped the local landscape and the Romans' choice of location for their installation, which dates to the period of Roman occupation in North Britain. The fort is protected as a scheduled monument by Historic Environment Scotland under reference SM1614.
The fort served as a strategic military installation within the Roman frontier system, commanding access through Perthshire's river valleys and lowland routes. The associated annexe, a subsidiary defensive enclosure adjacent to the main fort, would have housed additional stores, animals or auxiliary troops. Such annexes were typical features of Roman forts positioned in frontier or advanced territories.
