Syke Hill Fort is an Iron Age hillfort located in Peeblesshire in the Scottish Borders. The site occupies a commanding position and exhibits the characteristic defensive features typical of Iron Age settlement in southern Scotland, including ramparts that would have provided protection and demarcation of the enclosed settlement area. The fort dates to the later Iron Age period, reflecting the period of intensive hillfort construction and use in the region prior to the Roman occupation of Britain. Such fortifications served as centres of authority, refuge, and settlement for the Iron Age communities of the Tweed Valley region.
