The Comet is a paddle steamer wreck situated off Craignish Point in the Dorus Mòr, Sound of Jura, Scotland. Built in 1812, she was one of the earliest successful steamships to operate in British waters and represents a significant milestone in maritime technological development during the Industrial Revolution. The vessel sank following a collision in 1825 whilst in service on the Clyde and west coast routes. Her remains, designated as a wreck by Historic Environment Scotland, constitute an important archaeological record of early nineteenth-century steam navigation and engineering.
