The Hermitage moated site is a medieval settlement earthwork located approximately 400 metres north-east of Corby Pasture Farm in Lincolnshire. The monument comprises a moated enclosure, a form of defensive or prestige residence common in medieval England from the twelfth century onwards. The site's earthworks survive as a substantial raised platform surrounded by a water-filled or water-retaining ditch, typical of the moated homestead tradition that flourished particularly during the medieval period. Such sites often represented the holdings of minor gentry or substantial peasant farmers and frequently demonstrate continuity of settlement from the medieval period into early modern times.
