Thistle Cottage Fort is an Iron Age fort situated approximately 130 metres east of Thistle Cottage in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. The site represents a defensive settlement from the Iron Age period, when such fortified enclosures served as centres of control and protection for local communities in southern Scotland. The fort's physical remains, like other examples of Iron Age fortifications in the region, would have consisted of ramparts and ditches designed to enclose and defend domestic and administrative structures. This monument contributes to the archaeological understanding of Iron Age settlement patterns and territorial organisation in the Scottish Borders during the pre-Roman Iron Age.
