Thoby Priory is a Benedictine priory founded in the twelfth century in Essex. The site preserves remains of the priory church and associated monastic buildings, though substantial portions have been lost to time and later land use. The surviving fabric demonstrates the typical stone construction of a medieval religious house of modest scale. The priory remained in operation until its dissolution in the sixteenth century as part of the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII.
