Thompson graving dock is a nineteenth-century dry dock facility located in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Constructed during the period of the city's industrial expansion as a major shipbuilding centre, the dock was designed to facilitate the construction and maintenance of large vessels by allowing them to be hauled into a basin where water could be drained to expose the hull. The structure represents the technological infrastructure that supported Belfast's prominence in maritime manufacturing throughout the nineteenth century.
