History & significance

This unenclosed stone hut circle settlement is a Bronze Age monument located on the moors west-southwest of East Castick Farm in Cornwall. The site comprises a cluster of stone-built domestic structures in the form of hut circles, accompanied by three separate enclosures and two cairns, representing a typical settlement pattern of the Bronze Age upland communities in southwest England. The arrangement and construction of these features suggest a prolonged phase of settlement and land use during the later Bronze Age, when such scattered hut circle communities formed the primary pattern of habitation across Cornish moorland.
