Unenclosed stone hut settlement on the east side of the Erme Valley, north Harford Moor is a Bronze Age or Iron Age settlement comprising a scatter of stone-built structures situated on the moorland plateau. The settlement consists of multiple hut circles, the remains of round or oval stone-founded dwellings characteristic of prehistoric moorland communities in Devon. The site's lack of formal enclosure distinguishes it from the more structured settlements found elsewhere on Dartmoor and Exmoor, suggesting a more dispersed pattern of habitation typical of upland Bronze Age pastoral economies. The hut circles represent an important archaeological record of prehistoric settlement patterns and domestic life on the southwestern peninsula during the later prehistory period.
