Waterbeach Abbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in the twelfth century in Cambridgeshire, located near the village of Waterbeach north of Cambridge. The abbey was established as a daughter house and developed into a significant religious foundation with extensive landholdings across the region during the medieval period. The site was dissolved during the Reformation in the sixteenth century, and little of the original structures survives above ground today, though archaeological investigation has revealed foundations and evidence of the monastic complex. The remains, now designated as an ancient monument, represent an important example of medieval religious architecture and monastic settlement in East Anglia.
