West Kennet long barrow is a Neolithic chambered long barrow located in Wiltshire, England, approximately 800 metres south-east of Silbury Hill. Dating to around 3670 to 3510 BCE, it is one of the largest and most impressive barrows in the Avebury complex and represents a significant example of early Neolithic monumental architecture. The monument consists of a substantial earthen mound, approximately 104 metres in length, orientated east-west, beneath which lies a stone-built chambered structure accessed by a ceremonial forecourt at the eastern end. The barrow contained multiple burial chambers, evidenced by excavations in the twentieth century, and would have served as a communal burial place and focal point for ritual practice across several generations of the local Neolithic community.
