Wood Farm moat is a medieval earthwork monument located in Buckinghamshire, consisting of a substantial moated enclosure that represents a form of domestic settlement characteristic of the medieval period. The moat itself survives as a water-filled or water-retaining ditch system that originally enclosed a residential dwelling, likely belonging to a substantial farming family or minor landowner of medieval status. Such moated sites were particularly prevalent in central and southern England during the twelfth to sixteenth centuries, serving both defensive and status-affirming functions within the rural landscape. The monument remains an important archaeological record of medieval settlement patterns and land use in the county.
