Restormel is a small Roman fortlet situated on high ground above the River Fowey in mid-Cornwall, close to the medieval Restormel Castle. It is one of a handful of military installations now recognised in Cornwall, likely belonging to the early Flavian phase of conquest and consolidation in the south-west (later 1st century AD), though the duration of occupation is unclear and may have been brief.

The site is significant as part of an emerging picture of a more substantial Roman military footprint in Cornwall than was once assumed, complementing the forts at Nanstallon and Calstock and the fortlet at St Andrew's Hill. Its position overlooking the Fowey suggests a role in monitoring river-based movement and possibly the tin and mineral resources of the region.
The fortlet was identified relatively recently through aerial photography and geophysical survey, which revealed a small rectangular ditched enclosure with internal features consistent with a Roman military plan. No substantial published excavation has taken place, so finds assemblages and precise dating evidence remain limited, and interpretation rests largely on morphology and comparanda with Nanstallon and Calstock.
