Biography
Albert Sidney Johnston was born in Washington, Kentucky, in 1803 and served as an army officer across a 34-year military career. He held generalship in three armies: the Texas Army, the United States Army, and the Confederate States Army. He saw combat in the Black Hawk War, the Texas-Indian Wars, the U.S.-Mexican War, the Utah War, and the American Civil War. Johnston died on the battlefield in 1862.
