Andraé Crouch was born in Los Angeles on July 1, 1942, and worked as a gospel singer, songwriter, arranger, record producer, and pastor. He composed "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power," "My Tribute," and "Soon and Very Soon," and collaborated with artists including Stevie Wonder, El DeBarge, Philip Bailey, Chaka Khan, and Sheila E. During the 1980s and 1990s, he produced gospel choir sounds for recordings by major artists; his work appeared on Michael Jackson's "Man In the Mirror," Madonna's "Like a Prayer," and "The Power," a duet between Elton John and Little Richard. He died on January 8, 2015.
