Biography
Andre Braugher was born in Chicago in 1962 and worked as an actor in film, television, and on stage, as well as a producer and director. He played Detective Frank Pembleton in the NBC police drama Homicide: Life on the Street from 1993 to 1999 and Captain Raymond Holt in the Fox/NBC police comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine from 2013 to 2021. He won two Primetime Emmy Awards and received two Golden Globe nominations. He died in 2023.
