Anne Revere was born in New York City in 1903 and worked as an actress in film, television, and on stage. She served on the board of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared in films portraying mothers. Her name was listed in Red Channels: The Report on Communist Influence in Radio and Television in 1950, after which she was blacklisted. She died in 1990.
