Biography
Bob Rafelson was born in New York City on February 21, 1933, and died on July 23, 2022. He worked as a film director, writer, producer, and screenwriter. He co-founded Raybert/BBS Productions and directed Five Easy Pieces (1970) and The King of Marvin Gardens (1972), as well as The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) and Mountains of the Moon (1990). As a producer through BBS, he worked on Easy Rider (1969) and The Last Picture Show (1971), both of which were selected for the Library of Congress' National Film Registry. He co-created The Monkees with Bert Schneider.
