Robert Tyre Jones Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 17, 1902, and died on December 18, 1971. He worked as a lawyer and competed as an amateur golfer. Jones founded Augusta National Golf Club and helped design it, and he co-founded the Masters Tournament.
