Biography

William Broderick Crawford was born in Philadelphia in 1911 and worked as a stage, film, and television actor. He appeared in character roles before his performance as Willie Stark in the 1949 film All the King's Men, for which he received an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Actor. Crawford later starred as Dan Mathews on the television series Highway Patrol from 1955 to 1959. He died in 1986.
