C. Gordon Fullerton was born in Rochester, New York in 1936 and died in 2013. He served as a United States Air Force colonel and worked as both a USAF and NASA astronaut. At NASA's Dryden Flight Research Facility in Edwards, California, he served as a research pilot and engaged in flight research and support activities, piloting the B-52 launch aircraft, the Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, and other multi-engine and high performance aircraft.
