Biography
Carmine Coppola was born in Manhattan in 1910 and worked as a flautist, pianist, and composer. He contributed original music to six films: The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Apocalypse Now, The Outsiders, The Black Stallion, and The Godfather Part III. He won the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, and received nominations for the BAFTA Award for Best Original Music and the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. He was the father of film director Francis Ford Coppola and died in 1991.
