Carolyn Jeanne Bessette-Kennedy was an American fashion publicist. Raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, she graduated from Boston University and joined Calvin Klein, where she rose from a sales position in Boston to publicity and show-production roles in New York. In 1996, she married attorney and publisher John F. Kennedy Jr., the son of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
