Charles G. Dawes was born in Marietta, Ohio, in 1865 and worked as a journalist, banker, songwriter, pianist, economist, diplomat, ambassador, politician, composer, lawyer, and writer. He served as the 30th vice president of the United States from 1925 to 1929 under President Calvin Coolidge. In 1925, he was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on the Dawes Plan concerning World War I reparations. He died in 1951.
