Biography

Chuck Feeney was born on April 23, 1931, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He made his fortune as co-founder of Duty Free Shoppers Group, a travel retailer of luxury products based in Hong Kong. Feeney established the Atlantic Philanthropies, one of the largest private charitable foundations in the world, and donated more than $8 billion during his lifetime, much of it anonymously. He died on October 9, 2023.
