Biography
Dale Carnegie was born on November 24, 1888, in Maryville, Missouri, and grew up in poverty on a farm. He became a writer and teacher who developed courses in self-improvement, salesmanship, corporate training, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. His book How to Win Friends and Influence People, published in 1936, became a bestseller and remained in print. He also authored How to Stop Worrying and Start Living (1948), Lincoln the Unknown (1932), and several other works. Carnegie died on November 1, 1955.
