Biography
Edwin Hubble was born in Marshfield, Missouri in 1889 and died in 1953. He worked as an astronomer, cosmologist, and astrophysicist, and demonstrated that objects previously classified as nebulae were in fact galaxies outside the Milky Way. He employed the relationship between the luminosity and pulsation period of Cepheid variables to measure distances to galaxies and beyond the Milky Way.
