Dan Hartman was a songwriter, musician, record producer, singer, and composer born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on December 8, 1950. As a member of the Edgar Winter Group, he wrote and recorded "Free Ride," and later released solo hits including "Relight My Fire," "Instant Replay," "I Can Dream About You," "We Are the Young," and "Second Nature." His 1984 single "I Can Dream About You" reached number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, and he co-wrote and produced James Brown's "Living in America," which reached number 4 on March 1, 1986. He died on March 22, 1994.
