Biography

William DeHart Hubbard was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1903 and died in 1976. A track and field athlete, he won the long jump at the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics and also competed as a triple jumper at those Games. In 1925, he set a world record in the long jump with a leap of 25 feet 10⁷⁄₈ inches in Chicago, and the following year equaled the world record of 9.6 seconds for the 100-yard dash in Cincinnati.
