Richard Wagstaff Clark was born in Mount Vernon, New York in 1929 and worked as a television and radio personality, television producer, and game show host. He hosted American Bandstand from 1956 to 1989, five versions of the Pyramid game show between 1973 and 1988, and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, which broadcast New Year's Eve celebrations from Times Square in New York City. He died in 2012.
