Eleanor F. Helin was an American astronomer who discovered minor planets. She served as principal investigator of the Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking program at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Born in Pasadena, California on November 19, 1932, she died on January 25, 2009.
