Eleanor Holm was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1913 and died in 2004. She competed as a swimmer at the Olympic Games in 1928 and 1932, winning gold medals. She was removed from the 1936 Olympic team by Avery Brundage in circumstances described as controversial. Later she worked as an interior designer and appeared in the film Tarzan's Revenge.
