Eleanor Parker was born in Cedarville, Ohio, on June 26, 1922, and worked as a film and television actor. She received three Academy Award nominations for her performances in Caged, Detective Story, and Interrupted Melody, and won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for Caged. Her film roles included appearances in Of Human Bondage, Scaramouche, The Naked Jungle, The Man with the Golden Arm, A Hole in the Head, The Sound of Music, and The Oscar. She died on December 9, 2013.
