Elgin Baylor was born in Washington, D.C. in 1934 and died in 2021. He worked as a basketball player, coach, and actor. He played 14 seasons as a forward in the NBA for the Minneapolis and Los Angeles Lakers, selected first in the 1958 draft and named NBA Rookie of the Year in 1959. He was selected 11 times to the NBA All-Star team and 10 times to the All-NBA first team. The Basketball Hall of Fame inducted him in 1977, and in 1996 he was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. He holds the most career rebounds in Lakers franchise history with 11,463.
