Biography
Elizabeth Peña was born on September 23, 1959, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and worked as a film, television, and stage actor as well as a voice actor and director. Her film appearances included Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Batteries Not Included, La Bamba, Jacob's Ladder, Rush Hour, and Nothing like the Holidays. She won the 1996 Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female and a Bravo Award for Outstanding Actress in a Feature Film for Lone Star. Peña provided voice work for the character Rosa Santos in the animated television series Maya & Miguel and for Mirage in the animated film The Incredibles. She died on October 14, 2014.
