Biography

Eva Marie Cassidy was born on February 2, 1963, in Washington Hospital Center, DC. A singer, guitarist, and musician, she performed jazz, folk, and blues music with a powerful, emotive soprano voice. She released her first album, The Other Side, in 1992, a collection of duets with go-go musician Chuck Brown, and followed it with a 1996 live solo album called Live at Blues Alley. She died from melanoma on November 2, 1996, at age 33.
