Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. was born in Chicago in 1867 and died in 1932. He worked as a Broadway impresario, theatrical producer, and director, creating the Ziegfeld Follies between 1907 and 1931, a series of revues modeled after the Folies Bergère in Paris. He also produced the musical Show Boat and was known as the "glorifier of the American girl." He is a member of the American Theater Hall of Fame.
