Biography
Stanislaus Pascal Franchot Tone was born in Niagara Falls, New York in 1905 and worked as an actor, producer, and director across stage, film, and television. During the 1930s and early 1940s he performed as a leading man, often in gentlemanly sophisticate roles, and later took supporting parts in films of various genres including pre-Code romantic dramas, noir films, and World War I pictures. He appeared as a guest star in episodes of television series such as The Twilight Zone and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour while continuing his work in theater, film production, and acting into the 1960s. He died in 1968.
