Gailard Sartain was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1943 and worked as an actor, voice actor, illustrator, comedian, singer, and writer. He appeared regularly on the country music variety series Hee Haw and played roles in three Ernest films and the 1988 CBS series Hey Vern, It's Ernest!, which lasted one season. He was also a painter and illustrator. He died in 2025.
