Gerry Goffin was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1939 and worked as a lyricist and songwriter. He collaborated with his first wife Carole King to write pop songs in the early and mid-1960s, including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", "Take Good Care of My Baby", "The Loco-Motion", and "Go Away Little Girl", four of which reached the US No. 1 position. He died in 2014.
